It also does not span as much area as the China you know. [That had been a surprise, certainly.] And, of course, our way of dress was different. [Though Changge certainly has gotten used to modern clothes, though she seems to favour suits.]
Though beyond that, it could be tricky to explain. My childhood and life have been...far from what is normal even where I came from.
